In 1998, Gerry Koutougos was nominated by Ernst and Young as Entrepreneur of the Year in the restaurant/services category for British Columbia, Canada, in recognition of his success in building Canadian
2-for-1 Pizza.
From 1998 to 2000, Gerry Koutougos established smaller franchise chains for subs and wraps under the name of Zesto’s before launching Sarpino’s Pizzeria in 2001. Since then, Sarpino’s International Inc. has established over 100 franchise outlets in Canada, the United States, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Vietnam, India, the Czech Republic, Greece, Poland and Australia.
